Child Health-Works

The Child Health-Works Project joins Early Education Center Staff and Parents to identify and address health, nutrition and emotional/behavioral needs of children by providing consultation, education, services and support.
Vision
The Child Care Community, including parents, staff, and service agencies, is empowered to work together to provide the children at selected LAUSD Early Education Centers with optimal physical health, mental health, and nutrition in order for them to achieve their developmental potential and be ready for school.
Mission

 


To promote optimal health, mental health, and nutrition for preschool children through culturally sensitive responsive supports to Early Education Center children, parents, and staff that includes:




  • Enhancing awareness of health, mental health, and nutrition issues relating to preschool children


  • Identifying and addressing child health, mental health, and nutrition concerns


  • Developing parent, staff, and child program support


  • Linking resources in the community for referral and/or school site support
